Tanya Manhenga is a biomedical science student, influencer and model from Liverpool. The 22-year-old is a contestant on Love Island 2023. She deferred the final term of her biomedical science degree to star on Love Island.

The 22-year-old student told MailOnline she hopes to finish her three-year course at Manchester Salford and pursue a career as an embryologist after she finds a boyfriend in the South African villa.

“I am definitely going to finish because I have just one little term left of my degree that I’ve deferred and that’s something that I wouldn’t just leave because I’ve dedicated time and effort to it and I’m not just going to stop because I went on Love Island.

“You never know what’s going to happen when you finish the show. If there are opportunities there, I will definitely take them but it will have to be something amazing for me to leave what I was doing before.

“It’s a three-year course that I did at Manchester Salford and I really enjoyed it, surprisingly because I did it very last minute.

“If Love Island wasn’t there or even afterwards I would have continued to finish my degree and then I would have done embryology and working with IVF and helping people have babies.

“That’s the only job that I really wanted because it’s the most rewarding to me. I want to wake up and do something rewarding that’s helping someone.”
