Kai Fagan is a Science and PE teacher from Manchester and a contestant on Love Island 2023. The 24-year-old is also a semi-professional rugby player. He plays semi-professional rugby for Burnage RFC in Stockport, England. He has made nine appearances for the rugby club in the Northern Division – League since joining on 9 September 2022.

It’s the second successive year a rugby player will be involved in the reality TV show after Jacques O’Neill left Castleford to be a contestant in 2022. The 23-year-old has since been linked with a return to rugby league but is currently sidelined with a foot injury.
Kai previously enjoyed success in rugby league. While at Sheffield Hallam University, he played for the England Universities RL side in 2019, being presented with his shirt by former Steve Prescott Man of Steel Luke Gale.
He was also selected for GB Pioneers student rugby league squad alongside fellow Sheffield Hallam Rugby League player Josh Nolan in September 2018. He represented the Universities North side in a win over Universities South at Loughborough in February 2019.
He’s had international experience having played rugby 7s for Jamaica.
Love Island’s Kai went to school with Manchester United footballer and England player Marcus Rashford. He is cousins with Dean Fagan from Corrie. Dean was in Coronation Street as the actor portrayed mechanic Luke Britton on the soap between 2014 and 2018.

I’m single by choice. I’m looking for the right girl. I feel like I have quite high expectations. I don’t feel I should commit to someone unless I’m absolutely buzzing over them, because it’s not fair on them.

Chilled, caring, very impulsive and a good guy. I always put my friends and family first and spend a lot of time with them.

I’m a Jamaican citizen. Because of that I played rugby 7s for Jamaica. I play semi-professional rugby now for Burnage RFC. I’ve technically got three different degrees and went to three different unis.
