Sophie Ndaba Biography

Sophie Ndaba born Sophie Mphasane, is a South African actress, motivational speaker, MC and Event organiser. She was born in 1972 in Soweto, South Africa. She is well known for her role as Queen Moroka on the SABC1 soapie Generations.

She did her O levels in Zimbabwe. After returning to South Africa, she became a model and made her television debut with the series Class of ’92. She had supporting roles in Thlaranthlophe, and Yizo Yizo 1. Next came cameo roles in local productions such as Egoli and Soul City and had roles in local productions such as Egoli and Soul City. Her big break was when she landed the role of Queen Moroka in soapie Generations.

In 2015, she joined the The Miss South Africa judging panel along with Magazine editor Kojo Baffoe and former Miss World Anneline Kriel.

Sophie has won various awards including Duku Duku Award Best Soap Actress Award 2003, Kellogs Star in You Kids Award for Favorite soap Actress 2006, Golden Horn Award for Best comic Actor in 2009, You Magazine Award for Favorite Actress 2010, and Sunday Times Next Generation Brand Survey Awards 2012 as Coolest TV Female Star.

She has also served in various roles for many organizations and brands including Ambassador for Health Northern Cape Province, Ambassador for Housing Celebrity Built in association with National Ministry of housing, Patron for UJ Panorama residence for Girls, Patron for 5 A Day to Good Health, Ambassador for Sports, Ambassador for Pep, Ambassador For Tourism KZN, Ambassador for Dept of Community and Safety Gauteng Province, and Ambassador for SSP (Students Sponsorship Programs) SA.

Sophie lost her mother, Joyce, at the age of 69 to renal failure linked to hypertension and diabetes, and her dad, Solly Mphasane, at the age of 75 to kidney failure which he was diagnosed with in 2005.

Sophia has bee married three times. First to Themba Ndaba from 1998 to 2007. She then married Bishop Keith Harrington in December 2011 but the marriage short lived as they separated in June 2012. In December 2017, she married her businessman husband, Max Lichaba.
