Jacob Wohl is American investor, entrepreneur and the CEO and Managing Partner at Montgomery Assets, a firm based in Los Angeles, California. He is also the founder of Beverly Hills Management.
Wohl attended Santiago High School in Corona, California where he was a member of the school’s football and basketball teams.
Wohl started the asset management and proprietary trading firm, Montgomery Assets, with a business partner, who has previous experience working in the hedge fund and private equity business.
Wohl is a former hedge fund manager. He was banned by the National Futures Association in 2017 and was ordered to cease and desist his work after being accused of violating Arizona’s securities laws. He was accused of 14 counts of fraudulent activity. On March 2, 2017, and his company Nex Capital Management, LLC (NEX) were banned for life by the National Futures Association for failure to cooperate with the organization in its investigation.
In response to the action from the Arizona Securities Commission, Wohl told Benzinga in an emailed statement, “All of the allegations made by the Arizona Corporation Commission are based on false statements made by the disgruntled former investor to the commission, and are not supported by any of the documentary evidence in the case. The investor was a well heeled, accredited investor, and was provided with and signed all of the necessary risk disclosures.”
