Zain Nadella Biography – Zain Nadella Wiki

Zain Nadella is the son of Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella and his wife Anu Nadella. Zain had been born with cerebral palsy. Since taking on the CEO’s role in 2014, Nadella has focused the company on designing products to better serve users with disabilities and cited lessons he learned raising and supporting Zain.

In 2021, the Children’s Hospital, where Zain received much of his treatment, joined with the Nadellas to establish the Zain Nadella Endowed Chair in Pediatric Neurosciences, as part of Seattle Children’s Center for Integrative Brain Research.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s Son, Zain Nadella, passed away on March 1, 2022, at the age of 26, Microsoft Corp. told its executive staff in an email. The message asked executives to hold the family in their thoughts and prayers while giving them space to grieve privately.

“Zain will be remembered for his eclectic taste in music, his bright sunny smile and the immense joy he brought to his family and all those who loved him,” Jeff Sperring, CEO of Children’s Hospital, wrote in a message to his Board, which was shared with Microsoft executives.

Zain’s cause of death was cerebral palsy.

Zain had been born with cerebral palsy, a congenital disorder of movement, muscle tone or posture. Nadella had opened up about the birth of his son in a blog post titled ‘The moment that forever changed our lives’ on October 21, 2017.

“I remember the year 1996 as a thrilling time. My wife, Anu, was 25 and I was 29. My career as an engineer was taking off, while she was building her career as an architect. We were far from our families in India, but settling into our new life together in the Seattle area. Even more exciting, however, was that Anu was pregnant with our first child,” he wrote.

He went on to share how Anu, during the thirty-sixth week of her pregnancy, noticed that the baby was not moving as much as she was accustomed to. So we went to the emergency room of a local hospital in Bellevue.

“Anu noticed the baby wasn’t moving as much as she was used to one night during her 36th week of pregnancy. So we headed to the Bellevue hospital’s emergency room. We assumed it would be a normal exam, nothing more than new parent concern. At fact, I recall being irritated by the length of time we had to wait in the emergency department. However, after an inspection, the physicians were concerned enough to order an emergency caesarean section. Zain weighed three pounds when he was born on August 13, 1996, at 11:29 p.m. He did not sob,” Nadella wrote.
