Rory Sutton is a former ABC journalist and manager. She was the partner of Susan Ryan, the first woman from the Australian Labor Party (ALP) to serve in cabinet and was notably involved in the creation of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 and the Affirmative Action Act 1986.

Ryan died on 27 September 2020, at the age of 77, at Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick. She had fallen ill on 25 September after going for a swim and had been in intensive care at the hospital.
