Rocky Lockridge born Rick Lockridge, was an American professional boxer.
Lockridge began his career in his native Tacoma, Washington, at the Tacoma Boys Club. As an amateur, Lockridge was National AAU Bantamweight Champion, National Golden Gloves runner-up in Bantamweight and made it to the quarterfinals of the World Amateur Boxing Championships in 1978.
Lockridge relocated from Washington to Patterson, New Jersey, in 1978 to begin his professional career. He compiled a career record of 44-9-0 with 36 knockouts. During his career, he captured the IBF Super Featherweight Championship of the World, the WBA Super Featherweight Championship of the World and the USBA Featherweight Championship.
Rocky defeated such men as Roger Mayweather, Cornelius Boza-Edwards, Harold Knight, Johnny De La Rosa, Barry Michael, Dennis Cruz, Felipe Orozco, Kamel Bou-Ali, Tae-Jin Moon, Robert Mullins, Richard Rozelle and Sammy Goss. He handed Roger Mayweather his first defeat—a first-round knockout in just 98 seconds—earning him the WBA and lineal super featherweight titles.
