Pia Babnik is a Slovenian professional golfer. She currently competes on the Ladies European Tour since she joined 2020. Babnik began playing golf at the age of 3 and made her junior golf competition debut at the age of 4 where she made her first birdie. She enjoyed a successful amateur career winning several national titles in Slovenia and international junior competitions.
During her amateur career, she won at the 2016 Evolve Spanish Junior Championship, the 2017 Slovenian Junior Masters, The German Futures Girls Division, Slovenian Amateur Championship, and Srixon Norwegian Winter Open (Mar Menor). In 2018 she won the Trnovo Masters, Winter Series El Valle. In 2019 Babnik won Girls Amateur Championship, Helen Holm Scottish Women’s Open Championship, Evolve Spanish Junior Championship, Slovenian National Match Play, US Kids – European Championship, Atlantic Youth Trophy, and the Portuguese Intercollegiate Open.
She also made amateur team appearances including; at the Junior Solheim Cup in 2019 representing Europe, she was part of the winning European team at the 2019 Junior Vagliano Trophy. In 2017, she played for Slovenia at the European Girls’ Team Championship while in 2018 and 2019, she represented Slovenia at the European Ladies’ Team Championship.
Babnik first played on 2016 LET Access Series, the CitizenGuard LETAS Trophy in Belgium, and made the cut, she was just 12 years old. At the age of 16, she earned her LET Tour card at the final stage of LET Qualifying School. She finished 11th to earn her LET tour playing rights on the 2020 Ladies European Tour. On 6 June 2021, she earned her first professional win on the Ladies European Tour at the Jabra Ladies Open over English Annabel Dimmock in the Playoff.
