Moses Mackay is a New Zealand music artist. Mackay is taking the lead in TVNZ 2’s brand-new season of The Bachelor New Zealand. The Bachelor New Zealand started on March 2, 2021, on TVNZ 2 and OnDemand. Moses is a member of the New Zealand popular music group Sole Mio. The group Sol3 Mio, NZ’s opera phenomenon debut album spent an incredible 16 weeks at #1 and 8x Platinum status, with their second album x3 times platinum. As a group they have been awarded the Pacific Music Album Tui Award twice and Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards Album Of The Year, Best Group and Highest selling NZ album, three years running.
In 2009, Mackay joined the NZ Opera Chorus although it didn’t give him the most bright debut. Talking about his first opera, Mackay says that, “My first opera was Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro in which I had the very prominent role of moving a chair… reluctantly with the help of David, a fellow chorus member.” Moses was soo passionate and Persevering and after some years he was announced as an Emerging Artist by the Dame Malvina Major Foundation and Circle 100 Opera Scholarship recipient.
Moses also had an acting role in the American TV drama series Spartacus, he went on to decline the acting lead role to focus on his music commitments and his musical development.
Moses attended Rosmini College on Auckland’s North Shore, where he graduated in 2007. While there, Mackay represented the Rosmini College 1st XV, and also North Harbour in Rugby, Athletics, and Lawn Bowls, his dreams of wearing the Silver Fern were eventually cut short by injury.
His older brother was the school’s Head Boy in 2004, and Moses was also Head Boy in his final year. He also holds a master from the Wales International Academy of Voice, he graduated with a distinction. Moses also attended the George Solti Academia in Italy.
