Flint and Mayumi married in England in December 2006. The marriage ceremony was attended by Liam Gallagher, Busted star Matt Willis and Lisa Minnelli’s former husband David Gest.
During a 2009 feature in The Times on his sober living, Flint credited his wife, Mayumi, with helping him to get off drugs and alcohol. The singer said, “We were touring and she just walked into this room we were in, and you know how it is, I just couldn’t talk, I was overwhelmed. I’d done my share of drugs and sh***ing around.” Flint added that his wife was “beautiful, f***ing cool.”
On 4 March 2019, following concerns for his welfare, police were called to Flint’s home, where he was found dead. The police were not treating his death as suspicious.
Flint’s death was confirmed by The Prodigy in a statement. The statement read: “It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed.”
