Lizette Salas is an American professional golfer. Salas is currently playing on the LPGA Tour. Salas was born and raised in Azusa, California, United States, where she attended Azusa High School and graduated in 2007. She had a very successful amateur career, during her amateur career she played collegiate golf at the University of Southern California, where she earned three wins, the 2008 Pacific Athletic Conference-10 Freshman of the Year, two-time winner of the Pac-10 Player of the Year award in 2009 and 2011, three-time Pac-10 All-Conference First Team selection in 2009 and 2011, and two-time NGCA All-American First Team selection in 2009 and 2011.
Salas made her first appearance in a professional tournament after qualifying for the U.S. Women’s Open, in July 2010. she turned professional in June 2011, She played on the Symetra Tour in 2011, she played in seven tournaments and finishing 45th on the Symetra Tour money list. The same year she made her first appearance at the U.S. Women’s Open as a professional and finished T15. She also competed in the 2011 LPGA Qualifying School in the fall of 2011, where she finished 20th and earning full status on the LPGA Tour for 2012.
On May 18, 2014, Salas earned her first championship on the LPGA Tour at the 2014 Kingsmill Championship, which she won by a four-stroke margin. Salas’ season-best was a T3 finish at the Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship. She has made several team appearances on the Solheim Cup, representing the United States, in 2013, 2015 (winners), 2017 (winners), and 2019. She attended the University of Southern California (USC), where she graduated with a degree in sociology, in 2011.
