Lebani Sirenje Biography

Lebani Sirenje is a South African funeral artist.

He completed his primary school education at Ingwengwe primary school in 1990 and went on to Magwegwe Secondary School and completed in 1994. Sirenje started painting while at Ingwengwe Primary School. His fine art skills were honed at Magwegwe Secondary School where he specialised in fine art.

He moved from Zimbambwe and settled in the North East of Johannesburg, moving between Hillbrow and Yeoville, before he settled in Berea.

His artwork is displayed on walls of the Hillbrow Theatre and Ekhaya Park. His biggest dream was to own a place where he could work and sell his artwork and open an art school for the youth.

Sirenje has made a name for himself as the artist who pays tribute to late celebrities and famous figures through his art work.

Sirenje has previously painted the likes of Mama Winnie Mandela, Akhumzi Jezile, Joe Mafela, Dumi Masilela, Hugh Masekela, HHP (Hip Hop Panstula) and more during their memorial services.
