Kelvin Maynard born Kelvin Ruben Maynard, was a Dutch professional footballer. He developed as a young footballer with Zeeburgia in Amsterdam before transferring to FC Volendam where he eventually turned pro.
Maynard made his professional debut with FC Volendam, playing in four second division games in the 2006–07 season going on to make 35 appearances in his second year as the club were promoted to Eredivisie (Dutch top division).
In the 2010 off-season, he signed with S.C. Olhanense in Portugal. On 5 July 2011, Maynard joined Kecskeméti TE in Hungary and was released in December. In later seasons he played with FC Emmen and Royal Antwerp.
Maynard played for Staffordshire club Burton in the 2014/15 season. He was one of the first players signed by then-manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in November 2014, and helped the club to promotion from League Two. His contract was extended to the 2015/16 season. However, he suffered a season-long injury in a pre-season game against Derby County which effectively ended his Burton Albion career. After leaving the club in 2016, he had a stint with SV Spakenburg and earlier this year he joined Aphense Boys after playing with semi-pro team Quick Boys in Katwijk.

Maynard was shot dead on 18 September 2019 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He was fatally attacked by two men riding a motorbike while he was driving his car in the Langbroekdreef region of the Dutch capital. He attempted to escape the attack by driving towards a nearby fire station, according to local media, but his vehicle hit the front of the building and he later died of his injuries.
Burton Albion said in a statement on Thursday 19 September 2019: “Everyone at Burton Albion Football Club is saddened to learn of the tragic death of our former player Kelvin Maynard at the age of 32. Our sympathies go out to all his family and friends at this difficult time.”
