Josh Turner born Joshua Otis Turner, is an American country and gospel singer and actor. Growing up in the church, he founded a gospel quartet called Thankful Hearts, where he sang bass, in addition to singing the bass and baritone parts in choirs. After graduating from Hannah-Pamplico High School, he spent some time at Francis Marion University before moving to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in music and enrolled in Belmont University. After college, his fledgling career got a boost on December 21, 2001, during his debut on the Grand Ole Opry, when he debuted a song he wrote titled “Long Black Train”.
In 2003, Turner signed to MCA Nashville Records. That same year, he released his debut album, also entitled Long Black Train. The album’s title track, “Long Black Train”, was his breakthrough single release.
His second album, Your Man (2006) accounted for his first two number-one hits: “Your Man” and “Would You Go with Me”, while 2007’s Everything Is Fine included a No. 2 in “Firecracker”. Haywire, released in 2010, produced his biggest hit, the four week No. 1 “Why Don’t We Just Dance” and another number one in “All Over Me”. It was followed by Punching Bag (2012), whose lead-off single “Time Is Love” was the biggest country hit of 2012 according to Billboard Year-End.

Josh Turner Bus Accident
A tour bus carrying Josh Turner‘s road crew crashed Wednesday night, leaving seven of the passengers injured and one dead. According to people, the bus was leaving the Vina Robles Amphitheater in Paso Robles, California, after wrapping up a concert for the country musician, when it crashed off of Highway 46 near Shandon.
According to California Highway Patrol, for unknown reasons, the driver left the roadway and drove 20 yards before the bus fell from an 80-foot cliff. Per authorities, two passengers — one of whom died at the scene — were ejected from the vehicle. Several other passengers suffered significant injuries from the plunge. Two were airlifted to a hospital with major injuries and the remaining five were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
According to the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department, Turner and his band were in different buses and not injured. The Fire Department tweeted: “[FINAL] #CenterIC Confirmed Tour Bus of the Josh Turner Road Crew was involved in this accident. Mr. Josh Turner and band were in different buses and not injured. #CHP and #Firefighters will be at scene several hours for investigation and clean up.”

The tour bus was headed to Washington State where Turner had his next scheduled performance at the Central Washington State Fair this upcoming Friday, Sept. 20.
