Jon Roynon Biography – Jon Roynon Wiki
Jon Roynon is a chartered structural engineer, ceramist and The Great Pottery Throwdown Series 6 contestant. He is the owner of Roynon Ceramics based in the historic Wiltshire Town of Corsham just outside Bath where he produces small-volume handmade ceramics. His ceramics are stocked in the Made in Corsham or can be ordered via his online shop.
The ceramist set up Roynon Ceramics in 2020 “to allow me to grow my interest in ceramics and to have a commercial outlet for my creations. I only produce small volume pieces using both traditional and digitally enabled techniques,” according to his bio on his online shop.
“My traditional pieces are typically wheel thrown handmade using a wheel and fired in small batches before being finished using my own handmade glazes.
“My digitally designed pieces have their forms designed in 3D computer software before being printed on a 3D printer. This is then converted into a finished ceramic piece by hand before having the same handmade glazes applied.
“All products are fired to stoneware temperatures and so are impermeable to liquids, dishwasher and microwave safe and suitable for food use.”
