John Holt Biography – John Holt Wiki
John Holt is an American television news anchor and investigative reporter for Fox 4 News Kansas City. The journalist joined FOX4 News in 1994. He is a co-anchor for “FOX 4 News at 5, 6 and 9 p.m.” in Kansas City and serves as an investigative and special projects reporter. He previously worked at WIBW-TV in Topeka and KSNW-TV in Wichita.
He is a recipient of several awards including regional Emmys for anchoring, news writing, investigative reporting, general assignment reporting, and feature reporting. In 2018, he was inducted into the NATAS Mid-America Emmy Chapter “Silver Circle.” Media Mix, a media professionals group in Kansas City, named him as its television Personality of the Year in 2000, 2006, and 2008. In 2015, the Heart of America Boy Scouts Council named him an Ewing M. Kauffman Distinguished Eagle Scout. He served as the 2018 Heart of America Council “School Night For Scouting” Honorary Chair.
He is active in the community as a volunteer, which includes serving on the boards of the Head for the Cure Foundation, the KU Advancement Board, and the Kansas Bar Association Media-Bar Committee. He is a past board chair and member of Friends of Johnson County Developmental Supports and past member of the KU Alumni Association-Kansas City Chapter Board. He also emcees and hosts numerous events for metro area charities, including Benedictine College, the University of Kansas, the University of Kansas Hospital, Blue Valley Educational Foundation, and The Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association.
He graduated from the University of Kansas Schools of Journalism and Law.
