Alyssa Rae Biography – Alyssa Rae Wiki
Alyssa Rae is an American journalist and the CBS 17 sports anchor and reporter. She joined the CBS 17 Sports Team after working for four years as the Weekend Sports Anchor and Reporter at WSLS 10 in her hometown Roanoke, Virginia. She began her broadcast career in Beckley, West Virginia where she served as Sports Director for WVNS. Her love for sports, specifically football, started at a young age.
Born in Columbus, Ohio she was raised a Buckeye fan. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech and had the honor of covering her alma mater while in Roanoke. During her time in Beckley, she was the West Virginia Broadcasters Association recipient for “Best Sportscast.” In Roanoke, she joined an award-winning sports team that was named “Best Sports Operation of Virginia’s” by the Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters for back to back years in 2017 and 2018. The WSLS team also won the Virginia Association of Broadcasters’ “Most Outstanding Sports Coverage” in 2016. She covers the Hurricanes and Panthers on top of college and high school sports.
While not on the sideline or the studio, she enjoys cheering on the Hokies and Buckeyes, trying out new restaurants, running, and spending time with friends and family.
