Jenny Cobb Biography – Jenny Cobb Wiki

Jenny Cobb is a contestant on the fifth series of the TV crafting show The Great Pottery Throw Down on Channel 4. The Great Pottery Throw Down, presented by comedian Ellie Taylor and Siobhán McSweeney, airs at 7.45 pm on Sunday. Each week, judges Rich Miller and Keith Brymer Jones will test the contestants at some creative challenges, after which they’ll decide who will go home and who will stay in the competition.

She grew up ‘potting’ with her grandmother in the garden studio which her grandfather had built. She spent most of her time creating anything from clay animals to wheelthrown bowls and it was here where her love for ceramics was born.

After teaching for years, she left her job to concentrate on family life. Her passion for pottery was reignited after she decided to take some pottery lessons with Joy Gibbs-Price.

The experienced potter works out of a studio in her garden in North Lincolnshire, where she produces “a range of functional and decorative stoneware”. The doughnut vases have already been mentioned. Other pieces include soap dispensers, teaspoon and teabag pots, mugs and her most recent pieces – dishes with linocut birds pressed into them.

The 43-year-old full-time mum from North Lincolnshire is also a keen bird watcher and metal detectorist. She lives near Doncaster with her two children and her husband, as well as their two cats and four chickens.
