In August 2022, James raised £140 on JustGiving Crowdfunding for “resources needed to effectively teach every child in a full class with a diverse range of learning styles” at Harriers Banbury Academy primary school in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

“Derek Harbinson said that if you are in a group of people and can’t tell who the “lighthouse” is, it’s you,” he wrote alongside a photo of The Great Pottery Throw Down series 6 contestants. “Being in this group of such lovely individuals, brings me to the conclusion it must be me! Dang it! Loved every second of the programme. Well done to all involved.”
