Hudson Kroenig is an American child model and godson of the late Karl Lagerfeld.
Hudson began modeling for Chanel at age two. In the fall of 2010, Hudson made his runway debut at Chanel’s spring 2011 show, taking to the catwalk beside his dad in Paris. He said about his runway debut: “I don’t really remember that first one. I was probably scared then but now I’m fine. I just try to pose my best.”
In 2014, he walked with both Karl and Cara Delevingne at a Paris show. Karl Lagerfeld said about Hudson in 2015: “Hudson is a modern version of Jackie Coogan, the child actor who starred with Chaplin in The Kid.
“It would be different if he neglected his schoolwork or didn’t take it seriously. He does all the regular activities, including lots of sports. The thing is that he loves to model, and I think he could have a bigger career than his father.
“His face is open like a window. There is something like sunshine in it, like Mary Pickford when she was just starting out. But he also has a certain melancholy like what one sees in the Chaplin films. In a way he is beyond fashion, but he loves it.”
Lagerfeld also dedicated both a photo exhibition and a Chanel book to Hudson.
Hudson’s also appeared in Lagerfeld’s book celebrating Chanel’s famed jacket, Little Black Jacket, as well as editorial spreads in W Magazine and German Vogue.
Hudson had most recently been photographed with Karl at the Chanel Metiers D’Art 2018/19 Show at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on December 4, 2018.
