Gerina Piller is an American professional golfer. She plays on the LPGA Tour. Born Gerina Michelle Mendoza Piller was born in Roswell, New Mexico, where she attended Goddard High School. While there she won the state golf championship in 2003 and also was an all-state volleyball player.
Mendoza later joined the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in 2003, where she played college golf for four years. While there she won four tournaments in her senior year. In 2007, she was the 2007 Conference United States of America individual champion, Player of the Year, and the University of Texas at El Paso Female Athlete of the Year.
Mendoza turned professional in September 2007 and tried to qualify for the LPGA Tour. She did not make it and thus played in 2008 on the Futures Tour. In 2008, she tried to qualify for the LPGA Tour again but still did not qualify. In 2009, Mendoza got conditional status on the LPGA Tour for 2010 and played the entire season on the Duramed Futures Tour, where she recorded seven top-10 finishes and a career-best tie for second at both the iMPACT Classic and the USI Championship. Mendoza finished 5th on the Futures Tour money list in 2010, thus securing her full playing privileges on the LPGA Tour for 2011. The following season, she finished 68th on the LPGA official money list, hence retaining her full playing card for the 2012 season. In 2018, she took a sabbatical leave from the LPGA Tour to nurse her newborn son Ajeo James Piller, who was born on April 26, 2018.
