Erica Grow is an American meteorologist and television reporter. She is on PIX 11 News for New York City. Erica was born and raised in Bethlehem in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. She graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology in 2002. Erica is the Owner and Principal Consultant at Weather Elevate a talent coaching firm focused on local television weather broadcasters, in 2020.
She has previously served for three years as an on-camera meteorologist for WPVI, the ABC-owned station in Philadelphia, and three years at WUSA, Washington DC’s CBS station. Erica received the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society in 2012.
She is currently the co-chair of the Penn State Meteorology Department Development Committee. In September 2015, Grow became the new weekend evening meteorologist for flagship NBC station WNBC in New York City. Sometime in the summer of 2019, Grow was replaced by meteorologist Matt Brickman. She wrote the AMS Statement on Incorporating Science into On-Air Weathercasts and oversaw the development of the Statement on Media Expectations During Severe Weather. She has served as a panelist, moderator, or presenter at more than a dozen AMS conferences and symposia.
