In August 2020, Coffey revealed in an Instagram post she fell into depression after discovering her boyfriend cheated on her. She wrote: “On the 5th of July 2019 my entire world shattered into a million pieces and I genuinely didn’t think I was going to be able to get back on my feet, I thought I was done. I genuinely didn’t think I was going to be able to get back on my feet, I thought I was done. My brother and my father took care of me every single day when I cried pretty much from the moment I woke up, this went on for about three of the most excruciating months of my life. Eventually slowly the pain started to ease and my happiness returned better than ever.”

On the 5th of July 2019 my entire world shattered into a million pieces and I genuinely didn’t think I was going to be able to get back on my feet, I thought I was done. I was living on the Gold Coast and pretty much overnight packed a small suitcase and moved into my dads JetSki trailer pop tent (which yes I did end up spraining it from jumping at one point haha) My brother and my father took care of me every single day when I cried pretty much from the moment I woke up, this went on for about 3 of the most excruciating months of my life. Eventually slowly the pain started to ease and my happiness returned better than ever. I was living on the beach, fishing, surfing, camping, having afternoon drinks with amazing people/meeting new people and I overcame the darkest depression I’ve ever felt.
