David Klein (full name David Eric Klein) is Chief Executive Officer of Canopy Growth Corporation. In December 2019, Canopy Growth Corporation announced that effective January 14, 2020, David Klein “has been appointed as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer.”

As a founding employee of Canopy Growth (then Tweed Marijuana Inc.), Mark was instrumental in building Canopy into what it is today first in the role of President, then President and Co-CEO, and finally as CEO.

Prior to joining Canopy Growth, Klein served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Constellation Brands, where he oversaw all aspects of the company’s finance operations, all mergers and acquisitions, as well as the company’s information technology function. He joined Constellation in 2004 as Vice President of Business Development. He also held roles as CFO, Constellation Europe; SVP, Treasurer & Controller; and CFO, Beer Division. While CFO at Constellation, David was also responsible for corporate strategy and Constellation’s venture organization. As part of that work, David was instrumental in making the first major CPG investment in the Cannabis space with Constellation’s 2017 investment in Canopy Growth. He has served on Canopy’s Board of Directors since November 2018.
