Busbee real name Michael James Ryan, was an American songwriter, record producer, publisher, record label executive, and multi-instrumentalist.
He worked with numerous country stars, including Maren Morris, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Carly Pearce, Lady Antebellum and many more.
Ryan produced all but one of the songs on Morris’ debut studio album, 2016’s Hero, and co-wrote the hits “Once,” “’80s Mercedes,” “How it’s Done” and Morris’ breakout hit, “My Church,” with the country star. Ryan’s work with Morris earned him three Grammy nominations in 2017.

Warner Chappell’s leadership said of Busbee: “Our hearts are broken by the loss of our beautiful friend. He was an extraordinary human being whose generosity, spirituality and humor inspired everyone around him. An amazingly gifted songwriter, he used his talent, his music, and his love to break down boundaries and bring people together. He left us far too soon. Our deepest condolences go to his wonderful family and all his many friends. We love you.”

Carly Pearce shared a post on Instagram in remembrance of Busbee, who co-wrote her debut single, “Every Little Thing,” along with a number of other songs the singer recorded.
“I sang “every little thing” tonight through broken tears with thousands of voices and cell phone lights in the air, because I asked them to raise them up high so you could see them shining from heaven. What a beautiful sight it was. You gave my music a place in this world. I’ll cherish the 2 albums, songs, talks, laughs & memories we shared over the years.
