Angie Jakusz Biography

Angie Jakusz (born Cassandra Anne Jakusz) was a contestant on season 10 of Survivor in 2005. She became known to viewers by the nickname “No Fun Angie.” She was a member of the Ulong tribe on the TV show. She was voted off on her 12th day and returned to her native New Orleans.

Survivor: Palau contestant Coby Archa told PEOPLE: “People have to remember back in 2005 women weren’t cast on Survivor with dreads and tattoos. She broke the casting barrier. Fans related to her story so much. And a lot of people wanted to see her play again for her strength. We had heard from her family 3 years ago that she was battling cancer. We raised some money for her treatments. She wasn’t into the fame, just the experience of Survivor. She came, she played, and she went back to her life in New Orleans. She liked her life that way.”

In 2005, when she was cast on Survivor, Jakusz worked as a bartender and an artist. She previously worked as an ink lab technician and had also worked in a tattoo shop. She had 11 colored tattoos at the time. Born and raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Angie Jakusz attended Mukwonago High School. She passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021, at the age of 40, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with a rare form of squamous cell colorectal cancer in Nov. 2017. Prior to her diagnosis, Angie was the manager of New Orleans restaurant Saint Lawrence in the French quarter. She is the second cast member from Survivor: Palau to die. Contestant Jenn Lyon died in 2010 after a battle with breast cancer.
