Andres Matonte is a Uruguayan professional football referee. He has been a referee in the Uruguayan Football Championship since 2017 and a FIFA international referee since 2019.

The Uruguayan officiated at the 2019 U-15 and U-17 South Americans, the 2020 Conmebol Pre -Olympic, the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup, and the South America World Cup 2022 Qualifiers.

Most recently, Andres officiated at the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021. He oversaw Qatar’s 5-0 quarter-final win over the United Arab Emirates at Al Bayt Stadium on December 10, 2021, in Al Khor, Qatar, in which he issued two penalties within eight minutes of each other.

As a representative of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), Andres is one of the referees appointed for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
