Allen Henry Wiki – Allen Henry Biography
Allen Henry is an American reporter and multi-media journalist who works for NBC 4-TV. He joined NBC4 to serve as a reporter in August 2020. Prior to joining NBC4, he worked at WKEF/WRGT in Dayton where he won an Ohio Valley Emmy Award for his coverage of the 2019 Memorial Day Tornadoes.
He also covered the Oregon District mass shooting and lead an investigation into Ohio’s prison parole process. That story led to sweeping changes. His career in journalism and his general professional career started in Montgomery, Alabama at WSFA. While working there, he covered the 50th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery March. He also worked as a reporter at WVUE in New Orleans, covering everything from Mardi Gras to tropical storms.
While a student he helped start his high school’s broadcast journalism club which turned into an accredited class in just a year.
That experience led him to Athens and Ohio University, where he attended the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.
While a student, he interned with the Statehouse News Bureau and fell in love with central Ohio. He also had the honor of working as an intern with the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire in Washington D.C. writing stories from The White House, Capitol Hill, and the National Spelling Bee.
In his spare time, away from work, he enjoys competitively playing board games, cooking, and discovering new places to eat.
