Frances has a B.A. in Communication from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and a B.S. in Business from USC’s Marshall School of Business. She graduated from St. Francis High School (the all-girls Catholic school that inspired the 5-time Oscar-nominated film ‘Lady Bird’).

Journalism Dream

Frances has dreamed of being a journalist since she was a kid. At the age of 10, she started working at her mom’s kiosks at the mall. A local TV station opened up a studio right next to them, and she watched the newscasts every day. After being interviewed by anchor Walt Gray, she was hooked. Things came full circle as she would later go on to work with that same anchor. To make things even more full circle, Walt was at CBS4 in the 80s when it was still WCIX, Channel 6!

She has always been the most talkative of her peers, so her former teachers and classmates are not surprised she went into news broadcasting. Her favorite part of her job is getting to know people she may not have met otherwise. She loves to tell stories about the amazing things people do for their communities, especially sharing the good!

Charity

A long-time volunteer and supporter of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Frances met a young woman named Sammie who was a Wish Kid turned ambassador helping other kids and raising money in the fight against cancer. Sadly, Sammie’s cancer returned, and she passed away shortly after graduating high school. Her final request was to raise enough money to grant another kid’s wish. They raised more than $165,000, which set a national record in the Foundation’s history.

In her free time, you can find her catching up on alot of TV shows, trying out new restaurants, and struggling to get to the gym. She loves mentoring college and high school students and volunteering with local organizations. She especially loves helping and witnessing Make-A-Wish grant wishes.
