Thando Sikwila (full name Thandolwethu Emily Nomvula Sikwila) is a Zimbabwean-born Australian Singer, Songwriter, Performer, and Music Mentor. She is known for her songs including “Inferno”, “Won’t You Be Mine”, “Trouble”, “Something” and “Numb”. Thando has also released several Extended plays including Bury The Weapon in December 2013, Remix the Weapons in November 2014, and Digital Love Letters released in June 2016. Thando is a multi-talented artist, she can also play several musical instruments including the piano.
In 2012, Thando became a member of the Melbourne Dub/Reggae band called ‘Echo Drama’ as the band’s lead vocalist. She later left the band in 2015 to pursue her solo music career. In 2015, she played music to raise money for Mental Health at the Melbourne Music Marathon for Mental Health. In 2016, Thando won the Solo Vocalist of the Year award at the Afro Australian Movie and Music Awards for her Extended play, “Digital Love Letters.”
The R&B and soul singer also works as an event curator and strategist.
