Gaither was arrested on Monday morning and charged with felony counts of rape and aggravated assault, according to PEOPLE. According to court records, a grand jury indicted Gaither for rape and aggravated assault on November 13, and a warrant for Gaither’s arrest was issued a week later. He was booked into jail Monday before posting $50,000 bond. According to the the Shelby County Sheriff’s office, he posted $50,000 bond on Tuesday morning. He has been released from custody.
According to court records obtained by WMC-TV, the alleged incident happened between May 10 and May 20, 2018. Gaither has not yet entered a plea, and court records do not reflect an attorney that is authorized to speak on his behalf. He will be arraigned on January 9.
