Sienna Weir was an Australian fashion model, equestrian and Miss Universe 2022 finalist. She was one of 27 finalists in the 2022 Australian Miss Universe competition.
In an interview with Gold Coast Magazine in September 2022, the equestrian spoke about her passion for “cuddle monster” horses and English literature — “especially Gothic poetry” — and how both set her apart from the 26 other contestants vying for the 2022 Miss Universe Australia crown.
“Although I’ve lived most of my life in the city, I have a deep and unmoving love for show jumping. My family aren’t quite sure where this passion came from, but I’ve been horseriding since I was 3 years old and can’t imagine my life without it,” she said at the time. “I travel to rural Sydney 2-3 times a week to train and compete around New South Wales or broader Australia every other weekend.”
When asked by Aussie’s then-reigning Miss Universe Daria Varlamova what her “essential qualities” were, Weir said, “I would have to say being open to opportunities, sociability, dedication, being multi-faceted as an individual, and having integrity.”
Weir, who was playfully nicknamed “Gremlin” by her friends, continued, “I believe that while it is so important to stand by what you believe in and what you love, you never know what opportunity is just around the corner, and it is vital to push yourself to try new things and to fully know yourself. If I hadn’t done so, I wouldn’t be here!”
Weir had a double degree in English literature and psychology from Sydney University and was planning to move to London to pursue her career and “spend more time with my sister, niece and nephew and expand both my professional and social network.”

She was rushed to Westmead Hospital where she spent several weeks on life support before dying from fatal injuries.
The burgeoning social media influencer’s final Instagram posts were quickly flooded with tributes to the young rising star who “lit up every room,” according to one friend who added, “Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel today. I’ll miss everything about you [Sienna], I love you.”
Her modeling agency, Scoop Management, also posted a video tribute along with a photo of the smiling equestrian along with the caption, “Forever in our hearts.”
