Sho Madjozi real name Maya Wegerif, is a South African rapper and poet. She was born on 9 May 1992 in Shirley, Limpopo Province, South Africa.
She has a degree in creative writing and African studies from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts in the USA which she got through a scholarship. She returned to South Africa and took up a fellowship in writing at the University of Johannesburg.
She started rapping in collaboration with Okmalumkoolkat, most significantly being featured in the track Ngiyashisa Bhe and the hit single Gqi. In 2017, She featured with Rouge & Moozlie on “Ay Baby”. On December 2, 2018, she performed “Wakanda Forever” with rapper YCEE at the Global Citizen Festival in Johannesburg.
