Sabrina Pace-Humphreys Biography – Sabrina Pace-Humphreys Wiki

Sabrina Pace-Humphreys is an ultramarathon runner, charity founder, author and contestant on Survivor UK 2023. She is also a mother, grandmother, motivational public speaker, host/presenter, social justice activist, run coach and personal trainer.

Sabrina started running after the birth of her fourth child in 2009. She initially took up the sport as a way to lose 5 stones of weight gained through her pregnancy, and manage her mental health while living with post-natal depression. By self-coaching over time she lost the weight but also found a passion for running and used it as a way to ‘reclaim herself’ while living with anxiety and depression, according to The Start Line Podcast.

In her early running journey, Sabrina completed a variety of distances from 5K to marathon distance and has travelled the world via the love of her sport – completing New York, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Edinburgh and London Marathon to name but a few.

She completed the 250km Marathon des Sables across the Sahara Desert in 2018. The ultramarathon first came onto Sabrina’s radar in 2016 when she stumbled on a documentary about the race, sparking a daring idea. In 2022, Sabrina Pace-Humphreys won her first ultramarathon at the age of 44; 100km (62 miles) around the Isle of Wight. Her longest race to date is the 268-mile Spine Race along the Pennine Way, The Telegraph reported.

Sabrina is the co-founder of Black Trail Runners (BTR), a community and campaigning charity seeking to increase the inclusion, participation and representation of Black people in trail running.

She has been featured in BBC Sport, Countryfile, Great British Life, Stylist, Stroud Times, Huffington Post, Trail Runner, Runner’s World, Lessons In Badassery, SunGod, Coach, UK Climbing, Yahoo and Women’s Running.

Sabrina Pace-Humphreys Survivor UK

Sabrina is one of the 18 contestants taking part in Survivor UK 2023 on BBC, hosted by Joel Dommett. Asked why she wanted to be a contestant on Survivor, Sabrina told the BBC: “If you were told on a cold UK winters night about a show that was highly likely to be filmed on a tropical island, involved physical and mental challenges, and meant you couldn’t be contacted for the whole time you were there – wouldn’t you be interested?!”

Speaking about her preparation for the show, she said: “In the months before I ran two multi-stage 300K off-road trail ultramarathons. One of them being in the remote Scottish highlands. I camped out and ate rations. I gladly put myself in a deep dark hole physically and mentally.”

Sabrina is competitive. She said: “I’m competitive with myself more than anyone else. If I am on a team, I will be the biggest and loudest cheerleader for the people who are in my tribe. I make no apologies for using all the skills I have to build my people up for the benefit of whatever side I am on or cause I am fighting for.”

The show taught Sabrina “To never EVER change myself or dull my shine to make others feel comfortable being around me or in order for me to fit in. I am the woman I have survived to be and thrive being. And to ALWAYS to trust my gut instinct… If someone, or something, feels off, it probably is.”
