Rozene Cohran is the wife of the late Charley Pride. Her late husband was an American singer, guitarist, and professional baseball player. She was born on February 6, 1935, in the United States. Rozene was born in an African American family in the mid-1930s. Rozene earned herself a high school diploma and later went on to graduate from a cosmetology school.

Pride was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry. In 1967, Pride became the first African American to perform at the venue. The couple met each other while Charley was playing a baseball match in Memphis. They were later married in 1956 when Charley was on Christmas leave from his Army duties. Pride was drafted into the US Army in 1956. After basic training, he was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, where he was a quartermaster and played on the Fort’s baseball team. That team won the “All Army” sports championship. When discharged in 1958, he rejoined the Memphis Red Sox.
The two had three children a daughter, Angela Rozene Pride, and two sons, Carlton Kraig Pride and Charles Dion Pride together. They also had five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Carlton Kraig Pride, Jr, Malachi Pride, Syler Pride, Ebby Pride, and Arrentino Vassar, and two great-grandchildren, Skyler Pride. They resided in Dallas, Texas. Her husband Pride died in Dallas on December 12, 2020, of complications related to COVID-19. He was 86 years old.
