Christine Ferreira Wiki – Christine Ferreira Biography
Christine Ferreira is an American News Meteorologist currently working for WGAL News, on News 8 Today from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. Prior to joining WGAL News, she served as a weekday morning meteorologist at WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio. Her first job in broadcasting was at KAVU-TV in Victoria, Texas. While in college she was also an intern for WGAL TV. The meteorologist is a Chester County native. While at Millersville University, she served a three-semester internship at WGAL, studying under News 8’s Joe Calhoun.
In recent times, she has worked as a weekday morning meteorologist at WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio. She really understands the meaning of “lake effect snow,” first hand. Her first broadcasting job was at KAVU-TV in Victoria, Texas. Her stint in the Lone Star State exposed her to the infamous 2005 hurricane season-including a near miss from Hurricane Rita! She then spent three years in Portland, Oregon at KOIN-TV. Flooding and mudslides seemed commonplace in the Portland area. And the difference between the coastal and mountain geography brought about unique challenges in forecasting the weather for the west coast.
She is a member of the National Weather Association and holds the American Meteorological Society (AMS) CBM Seal of Approval. She enjoys talking to students and other groups about the weather, weather safety, and storm preparedness. She is a Millersville University graduate, earning a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.
