Roger Mayweather born Roger L. Mayweather was an American professional boxer and boxing trainer. He was a two-weight class champion. He held the WBA and lineal super-featherweight titles from 1983–84 and the WBC light welterweight title from 1987–89. He also held the IBO light welterweight title in 1994 and the IBO welterweight crown from 1994-1995.

Roger trained his nephew, world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., when he turned professional in 1996 for two years until Floyd Mayweather Sr. took over the head trainer role. He returned in 2000 and was his trainer until 2012.

We are thankful for all the love and well-wishes we have already received as word traveled about Roger’s passing. It helps me to see that he was able to touch so many people through his life in boxing, because he gave so much to the sport, which was his first and longtime love.”
