R. Jai Gillum real name R. Jai Howard is the Director of Foundation Affairs at the Florida Dental Association. She previously served as Director of Income & Health Strategies for the United Way of the Big Bend.
She has also worked for Florida Department of Financial Services as the Director of Appointments for Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink and as Development Director at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend.
R. Jai has served on both the Florida Commission on the Status of Women and the Tallahassee/Leon County Commission on the Status of Women & Girls. Among her many awards she has received the Leadership Tallahassee Distinguished Leadership Awards – Leadership Pacesetter in 2010, FAMU Institute of Public Health Community Service Legacy Award in 2010, and has been featured in theTallahassee Democrat’s 25 Women You Need to Know in 2010.
She received both her undergraduate degree in biology and Masters in Public Health, Health Policy and Management at the Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University. R. Jai and her husband Andrew Gillum were members of the student government association at Florida A & M.
