“The late Almarhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim will be laid to rest at the Royal Mausoleum in the capital today after the Asar Prayers. People and residents of Brunei Darussalam are hereby required to hoist the national flag at half-mast today and begin a period of seven-day mourning.”
On behalf of the Malaysian government, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said in a statement shared on Facebook: “Innalillahiwainna ilaihirojiun. On behalf of the Government of Malaysia, I respectfully and solemnly wish to express my condolences to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei Darussalam on the death of his son, His Majesty Pengiran Muda Haji ‘Abdul’ Azim.
“Malaysians are also saddened by the passing of the deceased and pray for His Majesty and all the Royal family and the people of Brunei to persevere in facing this sad moment.
“May Allah SWT shower His blessings on the soul of the deceased and place him among the believers and pious deeds. Al Fatihah.”
