Singer Olivia Lynes is a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent 2023. On Saturday 29 April 2023, Olivia sang the song Defying Gravity from the hit musical Wicked! She was given the Golden Buzzer by Amanda.

In an extended introduction, the audience were told that 11-year-old Olivia Lynes has dreamt of ­performing on the West End stage for as long as she can remember. In a VT her family were seen heading to London’s Cambridge Theatre to see Matilda The Musical.

Olivia’s mum Melissa had secretly sent her daughter’s audition tapes to Britain’s Got Talent. Amanda Holden was waiting at the theatre to invite Olivia to audition on the ITV show.

Following the show-stopping performance, Amanda said she wasn’t expecting to hit her Golden Buzzer but had been blown away by Olivia’s performance.

Amanda said: “You were absolutely amazing, you nailed that”, pressing the golden buzzer to send Olivia straight through to the live shows.

“I wasn’t expecting to do that,” she continued, “I always go on how I feel in my heart. And everybody was on their feet and you truly deserve that moment Olivia. I feel so proud of you Olivia.”
