Lily McManus Boyfriend
Kiwi reality stars Lily McManus and Richie Boyens found love on the 2020 season of The Bachelorette NZ, which starred joint bachelorettes McManus and Lesina Nakhid-Schuster. Are Lily McManus and Richie Boyens still together? The couple split in October 2021. McManus took to Instagram to announce the news this afternoon, sharing details of the split on her Instagram story.
“Hey friends, I just wanted to keep you in the loop, I know some people appreciate and seek closure with these kinds of things and I respect that,” she wrote.
“Myself and Rich have gone our separate ways. There’s no bad blood. If anything there’s still a lot of love but if you have found yourself in this particular spot before you’d know that love doesn’t always equal a well functioning and progressive relationship.
“These last two years have been rough on everybody and for better or worse it’s forced us to stop and smell our own s. I have s, Rich has s. We both need some time to heal our own s so we don’t project it on to each other.”
McManus said the pair would continue as friends “when we both deem it healthy to do so”. “Until then, if you feel the need to project any negative emotions about it, please punch some dry wall or something. I am very fragile right now and cry over everything and it’s dehydrating me. Love and appreciate all of you even though we’re all just strangers that bond over my s*** content, I really do appreciate the support. Look after yourselves.”
Lily McManus Deaf – Lily McManus Hearing
At the age of 12, reality television star Lily McManus was diagnosed with profound high-frequency hearing loss which takes away a lot of sounds from speech. Initially, she was in denial about having a hearing loss. At the age of 15, she was told she would have to wear hearing aids for the rest of her life.
On Celebrity Treasure Island New Zealand in 2020, McManus chose to play for the National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (NFDHH), raising $6000, as well as hearing health awareness, as a Youth Ambassador.
From starring on The Bachelor New Zealand in 2017 to joining the Celebrity Treasure Island cast, McManus has proved that disability is not inability.
Lily McManus Weight Loss
Former Bachelor NZ star Lily McManus has written a couple of blogs about her time on The Bachelor and the US spinoff series Bachelor Winter Games. While Lily McManus hasn’t commented on allegations of weight loss on The Bachelor, Size 8 bachelorette Ally Thompson said she was told to lose weight.
In a blog post entitled The Bachelor through my eyes, Ally Thompson of The Bachelor NZ season three and The Bachelor Winter Games claimed that production staff were monitoring her weight on the show, and even banned her from eating dessert.
After the production travelled to Bangkok, Thompson claimed that production banned both her and Claudia Hoskins, who came third, from eating dessert. Later during the production, still in Thailand, she claims that she and Hoskins were told once more to watch their weight, because “a couple of kilos of weight gain looks like 20kgs on TV.” Thompson was a size eight at the time and had a history of body dysmorphia.
