Kaye Adams Biography – Kaye Adams Wiki

Kaye Adams is a Scottish television and radio presenter and journalist. Kaye is a broadcaster best known as an anchor on ITV’s award-winning topical discussion show Loose Women as well as for hosting the morning show on BBC Radio Scotland.

She has presented a number of documentary series for BBC Radio Scotland including her latest, “So Who’s Got the Children?” which explored the effect of divorce on children.

The TV and radio broadcaster is a regular presenter on Channel Five’s The Wright Stuff and Radio Five Live. She most recently has appeared as a regular reporter on BBC One’s The One Show.

She is also a sought-after contributor on a range of discussion and panel shows. She’s braved both Question Time and Have I Got news For You and sat in the more cosy surroundings of Countdown’s Dictionary Corner.

Adams started her media career as a journalist trainee at Central Television in Birmingham after graduating from Edinburgh University with an MA hons in Politics and Economics. Her first coup was a one hour interview with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher as part of an award-winning documentary about women in politics.

In time, Adams branched out into discussion shows and it’s in that area that she found her niche. She presented seven series of Scottish Women for STV, her own show Kaye for BBC2, Esther for BBC2, Central Weekend for Central TV and from 2000 till 2007, she anchored Loose Women, where her journalistic training, incisiveness, and humour allowed her to steer the rest of the female panel in a popular and engaging mix of topical issues and entertainment.

More recently, Adams emerged victorious in Celebrity Mastermind, but her culinary skills didn’t quite reach the title of Celebrity Masterchef.

The TV presenter confirmed the news of her mother’s passing on Twitter, writing:

“We are forever indebted to the wonderful staff of Ward A22 @NHSForthValley who cared for our mum Cathie before she passed away on July 29th. They gave us comfort at a time of desolation and, for that, we are grateful.”

Reflecting on the heartache of losing both parents, Kaye said the loss of her parents was a terrible blow but she’s reached a point where happy memories are beginning to crowd out the pain of grief.

“My mum and dad taught me about life,” the broadcaster told The Sunday Post. “My parents were amazing, very resourceful, incredible and strong people and great role models.

“Both mum and dad were great for all those wee couthy sayings about life, like ‘never be afraid to ask a silly question’ or ‘never be afraid to admit you are wrong’ – but when I think about them now, they’re not couthy at all. They are actually pretty profound.”
