Katie Keat is a BAFRA-accredited furniture restorer and expert on Money for Nothing. She has been featured a number of times on the BBC Television shows “Money for Nothing” and “Bargain Hunt”. She has been repairing and restoring furniture for over 20 years.
Once a wallpaper saleswoman, Katie took the leap of studying all things restoration in her 20s and found a real love for woodwork, tools and getting her hands dirty. Under the tutelage of two expert restorers, Katie went on to build her own business, Roseberry House Restoration, based in Brixton in South London. She has carried out work for private members clubs, embassies and corporate clients as well as private individuals.
Katie specialises in all aspects of furniture repair and restoration including Cabinet Making, French Polishing, Re-Finishing of damaged surface finishes, Boulle Work (Tortoise Shell), Gilding, and Carving. She also undertakes the restoration of Mid-Century and Modern furniture and can source spare parts for some classic designer pieces.
Katie trained in Furniture Restoration and Conservation at the London College of Furniture. She is fully accredited by The British Antique Furniture Restorers Association (BAFRA).
