Kent Holmberg is a judge for the Third Judicial District in Utah. Judge Kent Robert Holmberg was appointed to the Third District Court by Governor Gary R. Herbert in December 2016 and confirmed by the Utah Senate in February 2017. He serves Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties.
Judge Holmberg earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee and a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law. He has spent his legal career as a civil law practitioner, according to his Utah State Courts bio.
Previous to his appointment by Governor Herbert, Judge Holmberg served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Utah in the Litigation Division, where he was the Torts Section Director.
In addition to his law practice, Judge Holmberg taught criminal justice college courses and was a certified public accountant.
