Joycelyn Savage is an alleged victim and fiancée of singer-songwriter R. Kelly. In July 2022, it was revealed in a letter that Savage and the disgraced R&B singer were engaged. The letter was filed by Kelly’s legal team to Judge Ann Donnelly on June 13, two weeks before his sentencing, and begins with Savage referencing herself, saying, “I’m Robert Kelly’s fiance.”

In August 2022, R. Kelly’s Fiancée Joycelyn Savage announced she’s having a baby girl with the singer, even though his legal team has denied this.

As for why Kelly’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, told E! that Savage is not pregnant with the singer’s child, Savage said “his lawyer didn’t know that prior to him going to jail, Robert and I were doing IVF because at the time I was told I couldn’t have a baby.”

“When he got sent to prison, we paused on it and I had them freeze my eggs until I was ready,” Savage told ET. “Once his lawyer did find out, she wanted me to have an abortion because she didn’t feel that now was the time for me to have a child following the 30-year sentence. Me and Robert wanted to have a child for a long time. He is very happy about it, his lawyer isn’t. Once I told her I was keeping my baby, she didn’t want me to announce but I wanted to share the news. I’ve always been there for him even before this new lawyer came into the picture.”

Her parents are Timothy and Jonjelyn Savage. They were featured in the documentary series Surviving R. Kelly. Timothy and Jonjelyn have claimed that their daughter is being held by Kelly. They allege their daughter was an aspiring singer who met Kelly at her parents’ clothing boutique in Atlanta back in 2015.

The couple went on to say that Kelly began mentoring Joycelyn when she started attending college and they believed it was only a professional relationship.

Her parents allege in 2016 they tried to contact Joycelyn, who eventually got in touch to say she was with Kelly and not at her college dorm.

Timothy said that he tried to convince Joycelyn to return to college and continue with her studies but she refused.

Joycelyn’s parents claim they have not had contact with their daughter for over two years despite numerous attempts to speak to her.

Joycelyn has previously spoken out against the claims with a video published by TMZ in 2017 in which she said asked her parents to stop taking action against the singer. In the video, Joycelyn said: “Dad, you know everything that’s gone on with the media and the internet, and what you have done is a complete disaster and you need to stop because right now I am fed up of everything you are doing.”

Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary were questioned by police over claims that R Kelly was holding them against their will. According to TMZ, Five Chicago police officers visited R Kelly’s Chicago apartment. Kelly is said to have left the room while Savage and Clary spoke with the officers, during which time they reportedly stated many times that they were there of their own free will and not being held as hostages. After the two women were questioned, the officers left.
