Life and career

He plays bass guitar, is a life-long Arsenal fan and plays football and golf whenever he gets the chance! Joe likes cooking and traveling, but always tries to seek out a good garden when abroad.

Likes- I don’t have a favourite plant- there are simply too many but I do love most euphorbias! I also adore ornamental garden trees that reflect each season such as sorbus and crab apples and solid evergreen structural plants to help give the garden a graphic edge.

Although I’m seen as a contemporary designer some of my favourite gardens are the older traditional ones proving that quality and great design brings longevity.

Dislikes- too much bare earth on show, boring ‘all lawn and no plant’ gardens and gardens where all the plants are way below eye level and you’re forced to look down. Remember the space and air above the ground is free to use in any garden!
