Jevan Snead full name Jevan Bryce Snead, was a professional American football quarterback. A Parade All-American at Stephenville (Texas) High School, Snead signed with Texas in 2006 with designs on replacing Vince Young as Longhorns quarterback. However, he lost out to redshirt freshman Colt McCoy and left the program after one year and transferred to Ole Miss.
After sitting out the 2007 season, Snead won the Rebels’ starting quarterback job in 2008. He passed for 2,762 yards and 26 touchdowns that season, leading Ole Miss to a 9-4 record and a victory in the Cotton Bowl, along the way engineering a 31-30 victory over eventual national champion Florida.
Snead passed for 2,632 yards and 20 touchdowns — but also 20 interceptions — in 2009, with Ole Miss again going 9-4 and winnign the Cotton Bowl. He surprised many by forgoing his senior season to enter the 2010 NFL draft, but was not selected.
Snead signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneeers as an undrafted free agent, but was released without playing in a regular-season game. He later tried to catch on with the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League.
A January 2015 profile on Snead noted that he was working as an oil field supplies salesman in San Antonio, Texas. According to Jevan Snead’s LinkedIn profile, he was working in Austin as a managing consultant at WeWork Space Services since April.

Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services officials said authorities responded to a call to help unlock a car or apartment in the 1200 block of South Congress at 9:08 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found what is described as an “obvious DOS,” or “dead on scene.” The police are investigating his death, but no foul play is suspected.
