Jennifer Araoz Biography – Jennifer Araoz Wiki
Jennifer Araoz is a New York woman accusing multi-millionaire Jeffrey Epstein of raping her as a teenager.
In an interview with NBC News on July 10, Jennifer Araoz says she was 14 years old when a young woman approached her outside her New York City high school in the fall of 2001.
The woman was friendly and curious, asking Araoz personal questions about her family, her upbringing, their finances. Soon she began talking to Araoz about a man she knew who was kind and wealthy and lived nearby. His name, the woman said, was Jeffrey Epstein.
The first few times she went to Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse, all they did was talk, Araoz said, and the friendly woman came along. Araoz told him about her dream of becoming a Broadway actress and about her father, who had died of AIDS when she was 12.
But on Araoz’s first visit without the woman, Epstein gave her a tour of his mansion that culminated in a visit to what he described as his “favorite room in the house,” Araoz said. A massage table sat on the floor. A painting of a naked young woman hung from the wall.
Araoz would return to that room regularly over the next year, she said, manipulated into stripping down to her panties and giving Epstein massages that ended with him pleasuring himself to completion and her leaving with $300.
In the fall of 2002, Epstein pressured her to do more, Araoz said. “He raped me, forcibly raped me, knew exactly what he was doing. What hurts even more so is that if I wasn’t afraid to come forward sooner then maybe he wouldn’t have done it to other girls. I feel really guilty. To this day I feel really guilty.”
Jennifer Araoz sues Ghislaine Maxwell and 3 other Epstein staffers
On August 14, 2019, Jennifer Araoz filed a lawsuit against Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell and three unnamed female household staff members described as a “recruiter,” “secretary” and “maid.”
Araoz alleges she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by Epstein at his New York City townhouse when she was 14 and 15 years old, including a forcible rape in 2002.
The complaint Araoz filed alleges Maxwell and the other staffers “conspired with each other to make possible and otherwise facilitate the sexual abuse and rape of Plaintiff.”
Araoz said during a call with reporters after the suit was filed, “Today is my first step towards reclaiming my power. Jeffrey Epstein and his network of enablers stole from me. They robbed me of my youth, my identity, my innocence, my self-worth. For too long, they escaped accountability. I am here today because I intend to change that.”
The suit is one of the first lawsuits filed under New York state’s new Child Victims Act. The landmark law enables victims of child sex abuse to bring civil cases against alleged abusers for the next 12 months, regardless of when the abuse took place. After the year, victims will still have up until age 55 to file civil suits.
