Huntley Biography – Huntley Wiki

Huntley, whose real name is Michael Huntley, is a singer-songwriter from Fredericksburg, Virginia. He is one of the top five finalists of ‘The Voice’ on NBC. The 33-year-old Virginia native appeared on two seasons of American Idol.

Huntley was singing and impersonating Elvis by the time he was 4 but never took himself seriously. When Huntley was 14, while walking home from school, a friend overheard him sing and assured him he was great. From that day forward, Huntley wanted to pursue music.

After two years of college, he moved to Nashville but didn’t find the success he had hoped for. After falling out of love with the music grind, he moved back home to Virginia.

Since 2022, Huntley has found success as a booking agent for musicians. Now that music is coming back into his life, he’s been a full-time musician gigging five times a week all over Virginia. He is ready to make music a priority in his life after being a dad first.

It’s all real hair,” Huntley told Parade about his rock ‘n’ roll hair. “I’ve been growing for about four years now.” Speaking about his decision to grow his hair long, he said: “I’m a rocker, baby, come on let’s go…I was just hanging out with Bret Michaels a couple of weeks ago. It’s for the ladies. Come on, you already know.”

Huntley American Idol

Fredericksburg singer Huntley previously appeared on American Idol. In a 2022 interview, he said Season 2 champ Ruben Studdard encouraged him to audition for the show. Ruben was the celebrity judge at a Fredericksburg Idol competition Huntley won in 2011.

After his first audition, he did not advance on the show. His second time on the singing competition was during season 16. He received a golden ticket for his audition but did not advance past Hollywood week.

Huntley The Voice

Spring Hill native Huntley is among the five finalists of the NBC singing competition ‘The Voice.’ Along with Jacquie Roar, Lila Forde, Mara Justine, and Ruby Leigh, he’s in the final phase of competition as The Voice counts down to its dramatic two-part conclusion on December 18 & 19.

The Voice contestant got off to the hottest possible start on The Voice Season 24. In Blind Auditions, he flipped all four Coaches with an amazing rendition of The Black Crowes’ “She Talks to Angels,” all as his family looked on while the Coaches gushed with early praise. “I’m worried that you might win this show,” Gwen Stefani confessed in her awestruck Blind Audition comments.

That Four-Chair Turn gave Huntley his pick from among The Voice’s four famous musical mentors this season — and in a new twist on contestants choosing their Coach, Huntley brought his daughter Stella onstage to let her make the final decision. Her choice? To have dad squad up with Team Niall.

In the show’s Battles round, the singer made even bigger waves with the Coaches, joining up with fellow Team Niall member Brailey Lenderman for a cool duet cover of Hootie & the Blowfish’s “Hold My Hand.”

Huntley sailed through the Knockouts. His gritty performance of Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive” won the day, even as Team Niall standouts Noah Spencer and Claudia B. delivered powerhouse covers of their own.

For the Playoffs, the rock vibes scaled back to reveal more of Huntley’s soulful side — but the change of musical pace only validated what all four Coaches had long been feeling about the rock ’n’ roll crooner.

As the Live Rounds have since gone on to prove, Huntley is performing among truly talented company as one of the show’s five remaining Season 24 Artists.

The Voice Experience

Speaking about his time on The Voice, he told Parade: “There is not a single thing I would change about this experience. The first moment that I had on this show was with my mother and my daughter and that’s something that my daughter and I will always share together. It’s very special to me. Every moment throughout the show wasn’t easy. I’ve been challenged and I’ve made some of the best friends a guy could ask for on this show. We all root for each other.

“I went out there every single performance and I had to do some things that I’m not really comfortable with, kind of tame the beast inside Huntley a little bit and having Niall as a coach and really the whole The Voice system here, it’s been a really great experience. As a guy who literally didn’t think he was going to be doing this last year, I’m sitting here on the finale of The Voice talking with you guys. It still feels like a dream come true.”
