Deshayla E. Harris (Deshayla Shay Harris) was a cast member on the final season of Bad Girls Club. She appeared on season 17 of Bad Girls Club in 2017, which was the final season of the Oxygen reality series. Deshayla Harris was killed during the Virginia Beach shootings on Friday, March 26, 2021. The Virginia Beach Police Department revealed her identity in a statement, saying, “The identity of the female victim has been confirmed to be 29-year-old Desharla E. Harris of Norfolk, VA. Harris was a bystander at the second shooting that occurred in the 300 block of 19th Street.”

“We do believe that she truly is, at this point in time, an innocent victim that was probably struck by stray gunfire in some regards,” Virginia Beach Police Chief Paul Neudigate said at a press conference.

On Saturday, March 27, 2021, Bad Girls Club released a statement following Harris’ death. “Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to Deshayla’s family and loved ones,” Bad Girls Club wrote on Twitter.

Fellow Bad Girls Club star Key Hamilton also paid tribute to Harris on Instagram on Saturday, March 27. “No matter how much I refused to talk to you…you never took no for an answer you popped up to my show just to prove fixing our friendship meant something to you,” she wrote. “ardest part about losing you is I never fully forgave you. I literally let that TV s–t stand between us building a connection outside of tv. you didn’t deserve this man this s–t jus don’t feel real ….I’m sick affffff. rest easy Babygirl.”

Harris’ death comes three months after the Bad Girls Club franchise lost another cast member. In December 2020, Bad Girls Club star Whitney Collings, who appeared on season 3 and was nicknamed “Boston” on the show, died of unspecified causes, at the age of 33.
